The VIS Freeride Academy programme, in partnership with Ecole Suisse de Ski de Verbier,  provides a unique ski programmes for secondary school students. 
 
Students enrolled in this programme will ski 2 afternoons a week with either a freestyle coach or freeride coach, many of whom have a long history of competing in both the alpine ski racing sports and World Extreme Freeride competitions.  Students focus on skiing in different terrain types: deep powder, trees, steep couloirs, or launching big airs in the park. Students may be registered for the freeride Junior Freeride World circuit
 
Students will also spend days with qualified Swiss mountain guides skiing off piste in some of the most iconic ski terrain in the world. These places include the Vallée Blanche in Chamonix, Backside Mont Fort, and some of the couloirs around the 500 km of terrain and trails in the world class ski resort of Verbier and the surrounding 4 valleys.  Students are trained in the correct safety precautions in case of avalanche and also how to judge a slope for themselves.
